All our physiotherapists are members of
the
CSP and are registered with the Health Professions
Council. They have acquired extensive knowledge through experience
in the
NHS, the private sector and participation in post graduate training courses.
Louise Dodds is a director of Bradley Stoke Physio. She is a member
of PhysioFirst executive committee and editor
of its journal. She is also a member of the
AACP. She now works closely with the British Gymnastic Association
and is treating some Olympic hopefuls.

Louise's free time is spent keeping fit, running, yoga and all forms of dance.
Kathryn Stephenson joined
Louise in 2003 to set up Bradley Stoke Physiotherapy Ltd at the leisure centre.
Prior to that she had extensive
NHS
experience and worked at the Nuffield Orthopaedic Centre in Oxford and at Addenbrookes
in Cambridge before moving to Gloucestershire and working in Dursley.
She is the Regional Officer for PhysioFirst in the south west and is also a member of the AACP (Acupuncture Association of Chartered Physiotherapists) and of the ACPIVR (Association of Chartered Physiotherapists Interested in Vestibular Rehabilitation).

Kathryn's interests include cycling, walking and running. She has in the past completed some of the UK's long distance cycle trails and also Wainwright's coast to coast walk. She has recently taken up running and is now at a 10K distance. She has aspirations of going further.
Ali Fisher joined the clinic in 2006 as a receptionist. She has
a lot of experience in the
NHS
and worked in Dursley for 10 years where she met and worked for Louise and Kathryn.
After gaining her A levels, Ali attended Cheltenham College where she studied for
an
LCCI
Private Secretarial Certificate, with
RSA
Typewriting and Shorthand qualifications.
Ali now works 2½ days a week Mon-Wed for Bradley Stoke Physiotherapy, carrying out reception work and general administration and keeping the place in order. She has two grown-up children - a son and a daughter. Ali enjoys going to the cinema and cooking, especially cake making which the rest of the team really appreciate!
Hannah Phillips trained as a Sports Massage Therapist in 2006.
Since then she has qualified as a Sports Therapist and is a Member of the
Society of Sports Therapists. She is committed to ongoing learning to enhance
her skills as an accomplished Sports Massage Therapist.
Hannah is involved with athletes in Bristol and is herself a keen netball player.
Naomi Verlaque started working for Bradley Stoke Physiotherapy
in the summer of 2009 and is now a valuable member of the team. She is a member
of the
ACPIVR (Association of Chartered Physiotherapists Interested
in Vestibular Rehabilitation).

Naomi is married with two children and is involved with her local church. In her spare time she enjoys walking & cycling.
Helen Cann qualified as a chartered physiotherapist from UWE in 1996 and completed her MSc in Vetinary Physiotherapy in 2002. She has worked in the NHS and private practice for 8 years. She is a member of PhysioFirst and the AACP .

Outside of work Helen has a young family who keep her extremely busy. She also loves the outdoors - both walking and cycling
Laura Lunny started her career in the health & fitness industry
working as a personal trainer, aerobics instructor and massage therapist. She became
well known for being results-driven, achieved by constantly encouraging and assisting
her clients towards their objectives. After 6 years, Laura retrained as a physiotherapist,
gaining experience working in the
NHS
as well as with a variety of sports teams around Bristol and Gloucestershire. She
has a keen interest in sports injuries and rehabilitation and has worked in football,
rugby and netball. She continues to live up to her reputation of being results-driven!
In her spare time, Laura enjoys playing netball in the Avon league, maintaining her fitness through running and loves adventure sports such as skiing and scuba diving.
Kirsteen Chalcraft has worked as a paediatric physiotherapist since
1990 mainly in the
NHS
and currently in a school for children with special needs. She moved to Gloucestershire
in 1998, where she met Kath and
Louise whilst working in Dursley.
Her special interests include the assessment & treatment of children with cerebral palsy & other neurological conditions and advice & treatment of Developmental Delay. She also has experience in the treatment of:
- Torticollis
- Coordination disorders
- Intoeing gait
- Toe walking
She has a young family herself which keeps her busy.
Susannah Baker qualified as
an Alexander Technique teacher in 2011, having completed the three-year full-time
STAT training course in Bristol. She is passionate about helping
people, of all ages, discover how the Alexander Technique can be used to improve
their health and sense of well-being. She has a particular interest in applying
the technique to sport and fitness.
Susannah has completed several sprint distance triathlons, is a keen outdoor swimmer, and completed her first marathon in New York in November 2011. For more information about the Alexander Technique and how Susannah works visit her web site.
Hugh Vickers qualified as an osteopath in 1991 (after a first career
in social housing). He's been working in private practice in the Bristol area since
1992, and an
NHS-funded project in east Bristol for the last 10 years. He's a fairly
traditional practitioner, firmly rooted in a sound appreciation of the bio-mechanics
of the whole body. As such, he's a general practitioner rather than a specialist
- though with a particular interest in the ergonomics of daily life (including work).
He's a committed member of the Western Counties Society of Osteopaths ( WCSO) , the Bristol section of the National Council for Osteopathic Research ( NCOR), and the British Osteopathic Association ( BOA). As all osteopaths, he's registered with the statutory body, the General Osteopathic Council ( GOsC).
When not at work, his interests are family, playing a concertina, singing, and trying to make his allotment grow things!
Kat Spray started work at Bradley Stoke Physio in November 2011
as a Sports Massage Therapist. She has been involved
in many sports giving her the opportunity to have experienced many injuries! She
has sport specific knowledge in cricket, football, swimming, badminton and squash.
Kat has a level-4 Diploma in Sports Massage Therapy and also has her own clinic based in Yate
Ali Staveley qualified in
1997 and initially worked in the
NHS
before working for the military, both down at Yeovilton Naval Air Station and RAF
Cranwell.
Ali treats spinal and musculoskeletal problems. She is also a trained class instructor for the Australian Physiotherapy and Pilates Institute ( APPI) and can teach individuals or classes in Moderate Pilates. She is also trained in acupuncture and is a member of the AACP.
Ali has two children and enjoys running, spinning and skiing. She is working part-time with us until June 2012 when she heads out to Canada for a year (returning to Bristol in 2013).
