About Sport's Massage...

Hannah PhillipsSports Massage can be of benefit to anyone doing sports or exercise. It covers the management, manipulation and rehabilitation of the soft tissues of the body (muscles, ligaments and tendons).

Athletic training schedules aim to enhance skill, strength, stamina, suppleness and speed by gradually increasing the level of exertion. This subjects the body to controlled overuse which can create problems and imbalances in the soft tissues. These muscle imbalances often go undiagnosed until they are serious enough to cause pain or discomfort.

Skilfully applied massage is the most effective therapy for releasing muscle tension and restoring balance to the musculoskeletal system. Through massage we can detect variations in the soft tissues and apply corrective techniques to address potential problems. On a regular basis this can help prevent injuries, which might otherwise be caused by overuse.

We tailor all sports massage to each individual's needs in order to positively enhance their ability to perform.

Benefits of Sports Massage therapy include:

  • Reduced tension, stress and fatigue
  • Increased power, endurance, flexibility
  • Reduced risk of injury
  • Aids recovery from stress, strain and injury
  • Relief from muscle soreness

We also offer Gait Analysis where we assess your walking/running style and give expert advise on improving your technique.
